Zulma has worked and collaborated with various communities and populations around t​he world to help them connect with nature, build personal development and wellness, and increase mental and physical resilience. She thrives on leveraging existing communities, partnerships, and systems, while also continuously improving and forging new aligned partnerships, resources, and processes to advance organizational objectives. 

In her 13+ years of experience, Zulma has worked in a variety of roles— from 24/5 mental health crisis clinician for suicidal youth; executive director of an outdoor organization increasing access to the outdoors for BIPOC youth; behavioral health researcher investigating youth understanding of outdoor programming to now being the founder of an emerging health tech startup.

Throughout her roles, her mission and value-orientation remain the same: work to improve and expand access to health, education, and personal development through evidence-based, nature-oriented approaches. Zulma truly believes an​d understands that outdoor challenges, supportive communities, skilled and resourced leaders, culturally-responsive and trauma-informed programming, and a growth mindset are essential ingredients in building a healthier, inclusive, compassionate, and prosperous society. 

Zulma offers consulting services in NGO and business management, community-oriented health and programming, team-building, and individual leadership coaching. She also offers mentorship opportunities for other female, Latinx, and/or queer professionals.
